Highly annoyed

I talked to my family tonight and they told me about the attempted terrorist attack on a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit. Now when I go back I guarantee I'll be hand searched and I don't know if I can take both carry on bags. I'm so sick of idiots trying to kill people! (and of course they have to be muslim so the media portrays that we're all like that...)

Not only am I flying back in a few weeks, I am also taking that exact flight (amsterdam to detroit (i have a connectin flight from detroit so not to expose my identity lol). Well now I'm expecting a pat down and baggage search... and the people around me watching me 24-7 while I'm on the flight, so basically harassment. Although I got lucky on my flight to amstterdam on the way here. I sat next to a very nice girl who didn't seem to mind at all that I was muslim and we talked a lot.

Jet Lagg

I hate it! I've been here a little over a week and a, still wanting to go to sleep late. I try to go to sleep when my husband does but all i can do is sleep for 2 hrs then wake up and not fall back asleep (i normally take 2 hr naps at home). Then I get tired after breakfast and go back to sleep from like 6ish to 12ish am. I really hate it i wish I could adjust myself to this time.

I'm becoming an Egyptian wife!

My husband yesterday said I looked like an Egyptian wife. I have been trying to be better about making food and stuff for him but I'm not a good cook. It's so hard to learn over here because the food doesn't have a recipe, they just throw stuff together and it comes out-I can't do that. I make good eggs and toast with chocolate, soup with meat and rice, and... thats about all th egyptain food i've mastered lol.

Hubby's mom is in KSA now so i've been in charge of cooking and cleaning. I cleaned the first time yesterday.... he was so proud-he called me an Egyptian house wife. I don't like cleaning that much and if it was my own home I wouldn't mind. Also if it was my own place it'd be in america so it wouldn't need to be washed every 2-3days but every week or so (less dirt lol.)

Hubby's doing exams right now, so I hope he does well insha'Alallah. Wheb he's got a break I'm planning on going to Dream Park in Cairo, and to meet a friend in Alex, insha'Allah.

Exams!

I have one exam tomorrow and two on Wed. ONe of my teachers let me move my exam from Friday to Wednesday so I could leave early. Wednesday night I am leave to see my hubby!! I can't wait :D

To everyone that have exams this week or soon: good luck, may Allah help you do well isA. To everyone who has them last week, sorry I missed you.

I love babies

When I go out and see a baby, I always have to try and glance at it. They're soooo adorable. I also love toddlers/young kids. When they look at me, I put on a smile and wave all cute like to them. I don't know if they think I look cool or weird with hijab but they allllways stare at me for awhile. (This happened before I converted to soooo...?)

I have 5 nieces/cousins. The oldest one is old enough to remember me without hijab and ask me why I wear that. When I told her she just gave me this stupid look and was like "ok." I hope she understands one day isA. The younger ones satisfy my wants of kids for right now (yes I want kids!) I wish I wasn't in college, cuz then I could start a family. Just playing with my nieces/cousins (one niece lives part time with my family) and seeing children when I'm out is enough for now.

Easy Mac- I Love You

I think it's one of the best things ever. A perfect amount of mac and cheese for a decent night snack or small meals. It is also a lot creamier than normal out of the box kind. lol.

On a different note... I went to the dentist today to get two fillings done. My jaw and teeth hurt, although the teeth pain is starting to go away elhamdollah. My jaws hurting more, Mom thinks it's from having my jaw open so long. I just took some pain pills so it should go bye bye soon insha'Allah.

I got the tickets!

My professor agreed to let me take my exam two days earlier so I could leave earlier to see my husband. I got the tickets already :D and I can't wait :) I'm so excited and hope everything goes well, isA.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving which means I'll be with family/friends all day :)

I have some stuff on my mind but don't know if I'm going to post it yet or not, depends how fast it annoys me...

Fast-A-Thon 2009

I don't know which schools do this but it's a day where the MSA gets students to pledge to fast and local businesses pledge money that is then donated to the local food bank. We also feed the students that pledged iftar. Well, we had this event this past Thursday, and it was a success elhamdallah. We raised like 200 for the food bank. There was a nice speaker about fasting likenesses in between religions but the sad part was that as soon as the speaker started, most of the non-muslims left :( But anywho, I had fun, but ate too much and was soooo tired/out of it and still had to drive home.

Hmmmm, news... almost done with this semester!!! I'm still looking for flights to go see my hubby, I REALLLLLY want to, and I just found out his dad will be there while I would. I haven't met him in person yet because he works in KSA but i really would like to meet my father in law. As of right now the flights are 1700 so I hope they go down isA.

Praying with spouse

I was just wondering how everyone feels when you both pray together. I've only done it a few times but I enjoy it. I feel like were strengthening our relationship with God and each other at the same time.

I don't know if there's anything (surah or hadith) about praying with ones wife or not? Anyone know?

I'm Debating

I realllly want to go see my husband. I'm thinking of going to see him during winter break for college. But I'm also trying to get a job. If I get a job I won't be able to go because I can't take 3 weeks off during Christmas when that's why they hire me. But to be honest, I don't think they're going to hire a Muslim when they have so many white/non-Muslim girls to choose from. They're not supposed to discriminate, but really they do.

If I don't get a job I'm pretty sure I'm going to go. I just need to find a decent priced ticket. That's the other thing, my exams end RIGHT before Chirstams so of course the airlines jack up the prices sky high. I'm going to talk to my professor about my last exam and see if he will let me take it a few days early so I can leave on Wednesday instead of Friday.

What makes no sense what so ever is that it would be cheaper for me to take a train to Chicago and get a flight from there than it would be to take the flight from the big international airport an hr away from me. I mean like 200 dollars cheaper (including the train.)

So right now I'm monitoring ticket prices and hoping they will go down when a lot of people don't travel because of the economy.

Convert Get Together

My local masjib/school started a convert get together to help us though this and to learn more about Islam. I live 20-30 min away from my school/masjid so I don't tend to go down there on a day I have off for school.

Last night I went to the first one. We went up north to join another group of converts, and watched a great movie. Muhammad-Legacy of a Prophet. I definitely recommend seeing it. Afterward, we discussed the movie and just other random stuff-it somehow turned to a conversation about wearing the hijab.

I absolutely enjoyed it and I hope to go to more. It definitely helps to learn more about my religion and I get the good feeling inside me when I do.

Dearest Statics

I wish you were easier. I hate taking 6 hrs to completely finish you... Why must everything get messed up when I use one wrong sign on you, or mix up cos and sin??

But I got it done =D elhamdullah. I do like the class just not the homework.

I have a job interview tomorrow wooohooo!! I had one earlier this week with JCPenny but i didn't get called back. :( Tomorrow is Bath & Body Works-I love this store and I hope it all goes well insha'Allah.

Hmmmm... what else... OOO I forgot, so my friends from my college/masjid started up a convert group and I was invited to go up north with them to watch a movie at a house with the group up there. I think I'm going to do it because I don't have any work now that statics is done :)

I'm looking for a co-op in civil engineering and I realllly need help-if anyone knows of one pleaseeee tell me :-D

Anyone know?

A few days ago I put up my dress :) I was wondering if anyone knows of a place I could get a long sleeve, satin turtle neck and a satin veil? (white for both obviously) I need them so I can wear my dress :)

Bridesmaids

For receptions, do any Muslim couples have bride's maids? I've never seen any, but then I've only been to one wedding. I was wondering if there is something against it in Islam, or if it is just not part of the Arab culture?

Homecoming

Tonight is homecoming at my school. I hope we win!! This afternoon is the parade, which I'm going to... only for candy :) lol.

I don't know if it's the seasonal change of weather but I'm getting sick :( stuffed up nose, and I've been queezy a lot randomly. Sometime's it goes away with eat sometimes it get worse after I eat. and I've been realllly tired lately. Hope I'm not turning into a pig haha...

I think my husband is right.

I'm watching a show. Criminal Minds. This lady is abducted and she runes to the door to try and escape but just tried pulling it, then she runs to a window, bangs on it and screams. My husband was right when he said Americans are stupid... just break the window and run away. Maybe it's just cuz it's TV but who knows. I hope I never have to find out if i think of using the window, isA.

I hate it when people think that...

you converted for your husband. I was talking to a lady at school today and she said that. Then later in the conversation I had to add in that I was interested in Islam before I started really talking to my husband. I was interested in it in like Oct. and we started talking a lot in April. I got a surprised look from her.

I just wish people would realize that:

No my husband did not
  • make me convert
  • make me wear hijab
  • make me wear abaya
I chose to
  • convert
  • wear hijab
  • wear abaya.
If I had converted for him, I wouldn't be praying or fasting... since it'd be easy to tell him I was since he's still in Egypt. BIG :( I wouldn't feel bad when I miss prayers (did that yesterday... bad me! lost track of time when doing homework :S hope it doesn't happen again.)

To be honest I have become more attached to the veil since I got married. I think I will start to like abaya more than I already do when I'm back with hubby... I started wearing it right before I left him :( I like the knowledge that he's the only guy that can see my hair and stuff. It make me feel more special than what I did before. I don't know if anyone else feels/felt this way or am I just crazy. If you say I'm crazy it's ok, I'm pretty sure I am :D

Anywho, plans for the day are as follows
  • juma
  • come back to college and do an online quiz
  • go hang out with a friend
  • eat iftar
  • go with said friend to first home football game of the season... go my team!!

I'm alive, I swear.

I've been sooo busy. College has been taking up all of my time. Today is my first time fasting again, thanks to my friend and traveling.

I went up north to my parents cabin for the weekend with my family. My brother and his wife took us off roading it was fun until we go stuck in mud that was like 6-12in deep. We tried calling AAA (they're a pain in the ass) and since we weren't on a "road" they wouldn't come and get us. We were less than 200ft off the road... I have a few other things about AAA that annoy me... but that's a different story. I went fishing twice with my sister, I didn't catch anything :( but my sis caught a small fish.

Lastly my niece.... I wanted to take her fishing just so I could shove her out of the boat. She's only 8 and is annoying as hellllll. I mean it's not the whole kids annoying, but the spoiled little brat annoying. If she doesn't get her way she whines and throws a fit that can last forever. She also has NO respect for her elders. She told her mom to basically shut up and her mom didn't do anything... I almost blew up on her for that. She also tells us what to do. I don't understand how parents can let their kids get THAT bad. I mean, I understand that some parents don't like spanking their kids cuz they think it's abuse but when they backtalk and have no respect for anyone that's their older they need to do something. I hated time out, they should try that (and not the time out that makes them go to their room, but the time out where you have to stick your nose in a corner and don't move until you're free.) I also think that spanking your kid is not bad, as long as you don't do it to hurt them.

Hmmm..... well college is crazy I have no free time. I also miss my hubby a TON. Tomorrow is the MSA iftar again. I have linear algebra homework to do... I HATE clac II whoever thought of this stuff needs to go back in time and not think of it lol. I'm a trig person, I guess.

OK so for the good stuff, My 2 month anniversary passed :D The traveling home from up north was not as bad as I thought it would be. I have less than 3 hrs until iftar :) Tomorrow will be Wed. which is hump day!! WOOHOO lol.

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

I think it's my pig out day...

Not every month, but most of them I notice I pig out a couple days before my break from praying. Well today's fast has been really hard, I started getting hungry around 10 and super thirsty. I also noticed that I was more hungry last night. So if I wasn't fasting I have a feeling I would be shoving everything in site down my throat, lol. Can;t wait for maghrib. FOOODDDDDD lol. onl 2.5mr hrs elhamdolallah

First Day of School

Today was the first day of my second year of school. I had 3 classes today. (I was late for 2 out of the three, one cuz I left late. The other see below.) I don't have my lab tomorrow!! Which is great because I don't have to get up at 630-7 to get there on time. My fist class is Calc. II at ten, fun fun... oops I lied... last semester schedule. First is Physics II, then Calc. II (I didn't fail, last sem. was all I not II lol) Then I have a nice 2 hour break where I will go to the library and hang with all my muslim friends that avoid the union like the plague during ramadan. (Kinda funny actually.) Then back to my last class which is Linear Algebra. So far what I've heard of this class... well let's just say I should run away screaming with my tail between my legs.

OK now to rant:
PARKING!!! I HATE YOU!!! I parked way out back for my first class, managed to find a nice spot for my second, and the third was a HUGE pain in the butt. OK people... I know you're not all rocket scientist, but parking SPOTS are made for a reason!! If they're not there DON"T INVENT ONE!!! I literally was working my way through a one way aisle that is actually 2 way praying someone wouldn't be coming from the other direction. People parked in the aisle, actually invented a whole new row in the middle of an aisle and were parking on the grass... GRRR. When I finally found a spot (after 10-15 min) I couldn't turn into it so i kept backin up (with the little space I had to opperate my car in) and ended up hitting the truck next to me. So I backed all the way up (hoping I wouldn't hit anything) and finally managed to pull in. I get out to look at my car, I have a nice long dent in the passenger backseat side, but I don't care, my car is old so... The truck of course didn't have any damage lol. So I didn't bother leaving a note or anything. (don't report me to the police!!! lol) Hopefully tomorrow will be a little more less crazy. It's always like this the first week or so, but I hate it!

Fasting

The first day is done, and I'm onto the second day! I don't remember it being this easy last yr. Last yr I fasted even though I wasn't muslim yet, I was starving by the end of the first day. This time I was hungry, but not like I remember from last yr. The only problem I had was that I had a horrible headache. I don't really have any muslims around me, I'd have to drive like 15 min at least to find one, so I didn't eat with a muslims family, but I did eat with my aunts family. :) I told them I got married too and they didn't kick me out of the house (they're the ones who have been giving me the most problems about my conversion.) My cousin actually congratulated me :) I know they're not happy though.

FAFSA I hate you!!!

For anyone from a different country, FAFSA is an application for student aid. The gov't can give you a loan/free money depending on your financial status all for college. Well, now that I'm married, my financial status has obviously changed... It turns out after you file your first application you cannot change your marriage status. Which means I get no aid from the gov't. I have enough money for next sem., but that means I will not see my husband for about a yr cuz no money for plane ticket. IsA, it will all work out.

I Love Arabs P's and B's

Haha. I was letting my husband look online for something last night. He was looking up something on an Islamic site. I told him about Sunni path after he was done checking the sites that he trusted. He went to the google search bar and typed in "Sunni bath" O started laughing and he was like "What??" When the search finally came up he was like "O, oops." I was like, "Yup, we're all going to get together and have one big Sunni bath." lol

On another occasion when I was talking to him about getting to the airport to go to Egypt. He told me "take a cap." I was like "WTF?!?! Is there something that I don't know about that's called cap??" Then I realized he mean cab and laughed my head off. Just picture yourself with 2 huge bags getting into a baseball cap and going to the airport... HILARIOUS.

Some Good News

The hubby took me out last night and I bought 3 abayas. :D I got a jean one which is in style over here (it will be good or winter where I live, MUCH too hot here lol.) I got a black one with a silver/white lining on the front. And a black one with a strip of different colors of pink on the back. They will be ready for pick up tonight and I want to buy at least couple more :)

Never Get Black Henna

Three weeks after it, I still have a red thing where te tatoo was. Then yesterday, I was really itchy and i looked at a product and found it contained benzocaine. So I hopped online to the site that warns you of oher medications you can have a reaction to and guess what was on it! Benzocaine! So now I'm freaking out about what other kinda crap I have to watch out for because of this stupid black henna. I'm so pissed because my friend told me it was safe, and doesn't realize how bad the reaction is (I haven' seen her yet since then.) I'm also freaking ot because with a bad raction you can get random welts after time and I have to strange dots on my arm... I really hope they're just mosquitoes bites, isA.

hahaaaahaaaa Dream.

I don't know what's wrong with me but I had a dream that I was forced to go back to high school for a year because they found out my class didn't do something right in hours o something. I was so annoyed because I had to repeat my senior year when I had already completed my first yr of college. My school also does this thing where you can be a part time college student and take 3 or 6 credit hours for free. So I got so annoyed being back with all the drama and crap in high school that I was finally like "Ugh, I have college to go to, I had enough credit before this mistake happened so screw this. I'm getting out of here."

I don't remember if this was this dream or another one. I kept forgetting to put on my hijab. Then when I realized it I was like :S :S. I was wondering if any of you ever dream about forgetting to put on you hijab? It's not the first dream I've had. I was also wondering if any of you have accidentally went out without it when you first started wearing it full time?

The Bad Dreams Have Started Already!!

College. I already had my first dream about this upcoming semester!

I was tired one day so I slept a little later only to wake and found out I had slept through one class that I forgot about. I had also missed the first day of that week since I though we didn't have college because of a holiday and I just skipped the next day. Then I get to college go to two classes, and then go home. Only too get home and remember I have another class that day.

What's weird is that I had my old professor from last semester in the dream but I was dreaming the names and times of this semester!!

I think my school injected me with something before I left so I wouldn't forget them, or my classes. lol

Itch, Itch, Scratch, Scratch. AHHHHH

My friend got married a couple weeks ago. I attended her henna party. Well I got two hennas done. Except it wasn't real henna. Whatever that crap was gave me a rash right were it was. It itches like hell and when I itch it, it burns. I want to know what kinda crap was in that. I've never had an allergy before to anythinnnggg. All I know is that it was black, and took forever to dry. Then it didn't fall off like henna, you had to wash it off. Anyone know??? Even better- anyone know a cure?????

I've got some news :)

Well I got married! Yippy. As one as my favoirte blogs, I'm going to steal her blogs name in this post "I married a Masri." He will from now on be called "hubby" or something along that line. No name, sorry.

We're staying at his families (NEW) flat right now and the water went out ERRRRRR!!! I tried to make pancakes since he said he's never had them and I couldn't find ANYTHING I needed in the kitchen so I gave up until he comes home from juma. He won't be happy since I told him I'd have food for him when he comes :(. So I'll end up making eggs or something and wait to make those until he can help me find stuff.

A Quick Update

I'm still in Egypt :)

Things I Miss

I miss the cool weather, the thunderstorms. I love the bad storms we get in the summer. We only get a few but I love the thunder and lighting. My family. Seeing birds other than pigeons. NOT being in a city. I hate the city!!! Too noisy, crowded, dirty. Not having to worry about the water I drink.

Things I Appreciate

Seeing crops grow. I know this sounds stupid. But I live in an area where there are a lot of farmers. Even when I went to college, the daily commute, I still saw fields along the highway. Now I only see them when traveling to and from Cairo. I see their beauty and just think mashallah. I know I'm weird.

Things I Love

The people. They're soooo nice. You can't find this many people in America that are so nice. I love seeing so many girls that cover themselves. The cost of most stuff ;) hehe. I got like 4 or 5 hijabs for like $10!! I was like YIPPPPY!!! you can't buy them in the store though. You have to get them from a seller on the street. I want to buy some abayas still and more veils. There's very little humidity, but then that kinda goes with no rain :(

I have some more news but I will post from my own comp ;)This is not mine. it's good news :)

Don't know what to say

Well I've been in Egypt for over a week now. I still find it really hot. I moved to my fiances family's flat yesterday and am enjoying myself.

So far I have seen the pyramids, the zoo, the Egyptian national museum, and Muhammad Ail Palace (might not have that last one right.) The most commen thing I hear here is "Eat (insert my name) eat!" I would also like to add the the driving over here is crazy. I would love to give it a try though *evil grin*

I was looking outside to night and saw a white owl. I was like :O they have owls?? I thought owls only lived in cool places... but maybe that's because I associate them with pine trees and tree like we have at home. I am totally craving popcorn right now. I miss it. I used to eat it every-single-night. I haven't had it since I've gotten here. :'( lol.

I broke my glasses and I hope I get them back from the person who is fixing them soon. Wearing contacts so much drives me up a wall. My camera also broke that same day as my glasses. My fiance dropped it. Luckily I can still take pics and stuff, the lens just doesn't close right.

For the Aussies. We don't know much about you but we really do love you.

I found this while stumbling. http://www.satirewire.com/news/jan02/australia.shtml I hope you read it and have a laugh and I hope no one takes it personally. It's not intended to be that way.

I had a great night :)

Last night I went out with my fiance. Hehe, first time we finally got to hang out. We went to a cafe to watch the Egypt vs. USA game. I was saying that I was going to root for Egypt but I ended up not rooting for either and just watching. I was happy the US won though. Really it's a win-win situation. lol You have to love those.

But before I went out I lost my friends cell phone I'm borrowing, it had a ton of contacts and stuff in it :( so I feel bad about that. Then I got home and was told off for being out so late... it was only 12. I mean...... kinda late but not really. I have to adapt to their "late" for girls here. I'm used to late being 4 or 5 am for both genders. (not that I've ever stayed out that late.)

I am supposed to meet up with my other friend on Friday and I can't wait to meet her and her baby and hubby finally. :)

AHHHH webpage

The web page was in Arabic when I opened it!!! AHH. I couldn't read anything. Luckly my friend figured out how to change it to English elhamdolallah. I also hear it everywhere. I have a feeling I will pick some up weather I want to or not. But I do want to learn some sooooo bring it onnnn lol. I can sometimes get the gist of the conversation. :D

Egypt!!!

I have been here for 2 whole days. I had a decent trip over. The Paris airport was soooo uncomfortable/expensive. They wanted 8 euros for a stupid sandwich!!!!! NOOOOOOOO... The landing in Cairo was a little rough but other than that we had a smooth flight. It took me 1.5 hrs to get though all of the customs since they were checking everyone for swine flu... I'M SO SICK OF HEARING ABOUT IT!!! IT'S A FREAKING FLUUUUUU! i mean... *angel face*

Then the ride back to my friends flat was interesting. My friends were right in warning me that Egypt drivers are crazy lol. I saw some sheep in the street eating and the look I had on my face made my friends cousins start laughing at me lol.

I went to the baby celebration last night and that was cute. A sheep somehow got into the building and worked its way upstairs. I started laughing and sat still while all the girls screamed and ran away from it. After that I went to the mall. I think we might be going back tonight.

I don't have connection right now so I won't be blogging too much for a while.

Today

First of all, I went down to my college for an ASCE (American Society for Civil Engineers) meeting. We talked about a golf outing and next year. I've never golfed before. How do you do it? I have a feeling I'd get like 100 over par lol.

I came home and repacked. I have everything packed and not over the weight limit! Elhamdolallah.

My brother, sis-in-law and two nieces came over. We talked and played the Wii for a bit. Then I feed them the rest of the bashamel I made a few days ago. My niece then didn't feel good. The poor girl was constipated. They left and cam back like 5 minutes later since she actually threw up for her. I hope she feels better soon isA.

Friday, June 12, 2009

Quick Update

I'm leaving in 5 days. Not packed completely yet since I'm STILL waiting on a stupid package.

I have to teach my mom how to use MSN... this is going to be hilarious. I made her an account yesterday.

I made bashamel yesterday. I guess it turned out ok. I need an Egyptian to come over here and tell me lol.

Tonight is my first henna party :) I still have to decide what to wear and do with my hair.

I'm wondering if anyone have a really good place in Egypt I should visit? If so please leave me a message. I know about the pyramids, sphinx, so how about a not so well known but amazing place?

Who's On First for the Next Generation

I found this while stumbling. I could totally see this happen since our former president was as smart as a block of wood.

George: Condi! Nice to see you. What's happening?

Condi: Sir, I have the report here about the new leader of China.

George: Great. Lay it on me.

Condi: Hu is the new leader of China.

George: That's what I want to know.

Condi: That's what I'm telling you.

George: That's what I'm asking you. Who is the new leader of China?

Condi: Yes.

George: I mean the fellow's name.

8 days!!

I'm leaving in eight days!!! I'm super excited! Can't wait! lol. I still have to finish packing... :S:S:S:S but I have everything ready except I just need to reorganize and get one last thing shipped to my house. :) I'm soooo not looking forward to the 18-20 hr traveling time over there. I'm looking at the airports now to try and determine which terminals I'll be flying into and out of... CRAZY!!! lol I kinda like flying, once we're in the air I'm fine. I just am not a big fan of taking off or landing... but I don't show my nerves so I'm all good. I need to find my MP3 player...

I think I'm going crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so lately I've been having really messed up dreams. Last night I was stuck on an island and a giant snake was going around the waters. We had to go back and forth between two islands by swimming and people were getting eaten by it. When I say giant I mean GIANT like...a mile long or 1600m. I got to the other island to do my job (funny enough it was as a civil engineer). It was a gold company that had underwater tunnels that people went into to search for gold. Well one of the holes kept having the worker disappear. They were like "go find out why this happens" thinking the pressure sucks him out of the hole or kills him. I knew why-the tunnel had an opening out to the water that was the largest... so big the snake could fit in it and eat the people.

The best part... I like snakes. I wouldn't go picking them up and kissing them, but when I see them I don't run from them screaming lol.

Next dream:
I was at Niagara Falls we decided to take boats down to see how close we could get to the top of the falls. Well the fall changed... instead of one bigggg fall it was a smaller one then the big. I was like ok we'll go up to the smaller on and look down safely. We'll we got there and looked for a bit then all of a sudden the boat moved down the fall. We went towards the edge of the big one. We got there and looked down and I was just thinking "We're going to go over!"

I've had more but forget them now. Just some examples of my mind being crazy lol

Recipes

I was asked for the pie recipes. I'm not sure how well these will turn out but here they are...

It's the french apple pie with standard 9 in. 1 crust.

There's a bluejay sitting on the windowstill

Couldn't think of anything else to name this post. I looked out side and its staring at its reflection now lol. And he's gone :(

So the last few days have not been fun. I've been in weird moods that then to come around the same time every month. Depressed, antisocial, wanting to be social, lazy, feeling to lazy... I hate it lol.

Last night I went to baby sit my 2 nieces. One is 8 and the other is 2.5 months. I played Mario Party with the older one most of the night and explained why I wear the hijab. She said "You're crazy." lol She doesn't completely understand. When I said I don't show my beauty to guys she just stared at me like "HUH?" Then she said that most people she sees that wears the hijab is from a different country or state. I tried to correct that view by saying most of my friends were born in the US (but most of them are from the neighboring state since I go to college out of state. But I have also met a lot of people from my state.)

When she went to bed I stayed up holding her sister and feeding her. There's something that makes you fall in love with them when they stare up at you with their big eye. So adorable masha'Allah. I want one of my own lol. Except.... I need to finish school first. After that insha'Allah.

Zain Bhikha

So he came to a surrounding area in the last few day and I went to see his concert. I love his songs, very inspirational/meaningful. He did a great job singing masha'Allah. Afterwards, I bought two of his CDs but have been busy the last few days so I haven't gotten a chance to listen to them(even thought I know most of them.)

I also learned about a website whyislam.org there. It's purpose is to correct the warped views most American's have by getting information out there and helping new Muslims. I would like to become more involved in it. They give out care packages to new Muslims with info for them. I want to try and get one... don't know where to go and don't know if I can still get one.

Some Pics

Here is the pie I made. Looks Yummy lol.

And my beautiful rabbit.

5 Months

Yesterday was 5 months since I said my shahada. I can't believe it's been 5 months already. It feels like a life time but at the same time it doesn't seem like it's been that long.

Now I'm off to back a pie for my dad. If anyone wants a piece just tell me lol.
