Wuthering Heights is a REALLY good book. You can find it online for free as an ebook. Uncle Toms cabin is pretty good, but depressing. You should really read Oliver Twist too. :D It's really good, a story you won't forget. All of the Lousia May Little Women, Men, Jo's boys..etc series are good. My PERSONAL favorites. I love those books more than any other books. You should have read the Adventures of Tom Sawyer before you read the Huck one, because Tom comes before Huck. Lol. :P I have read alot of classic books, but the Little Women series is my favorite. If you don't mind, I'mma steal your book list and post it as my own. :D If you don't mind.
lol I don't mind.
The reason I read Huck's first is because it was a book in school. For some reason we didn't read Tom first.... lol. I had also seen the movie a couple times but I still want to read it :)
Thanks for the imput. It's going to be awhile before I get through all the books (I kind of want to give them all at least a chance.)
We seem to have a little different taste...because i tried to read the Grapes of Wrath twice and never got through it...
I did see an AMAZING performance of it in Indianapolis, though.
You said you had never heard of Flowers for Algernon. Oohhh it's good. So sad, but good. It's a short story, though, not a novel. (at least if i remember correctly...seventh grade was a looong time ago)
So many of the books on that list I was made to read in school! If you're going to read Hemingway, I'd definitely read A Farewell to Arms before The Old Man and the Sea...it was very monotonous and anticlimactic to me. But again, that was the feeling of a highschool sophomore...as a college senior I might have a different opinion upon rereading. :)
